A Beginner's Guide to Our Puppy Registry

HomeBlogA Beginner’s Guide to Our Puppy Registry

A new puppy is always a joyous and exciting addition to a family. Registering them on our purebred puppy registry is an important step to preserving their lineage and tracking their health. We know this can be an intimidating process for new puppy owners.

A Beginner's Guide to Our Puppy Registry

Here’s our beginner’s guide to our puppy registry:

  • Expect the breeder to provide relevant information. Reputable purebred breeders should be well-versed in the information owners need to register their puppies. It’s always ideal for the breeder to be forthcoming with their registration numbers as well as the pertinent information regarding your puppy’s breeding. Don’t hesitate to request this information if it has not been provided.
  • A purebred inspection is required. Whether by a veterinarian or one of our licensed inspectors, your puppy will need to be inspected to be registered as purebred. We seek to make the process as convenient and quick as possible.
  • The more lineage information you can provide, the better. We accept up to a three-generation pedigree, though we do also accept one-generation lineages as well. If you are interested in your puppy participating in our competitions and dog shows, a deeper lineage will be an advantage.
  • Our puppy registry grants you access to our competitions, helpful resources, and caring community. We are dedicated to celebrating and supporting purebred breeds and their owners. When you register your puppy with us, you become part of the National Kennel Club family. Whether you want to participate in competitions, take part in our educational programs and events, or just enjoy getting to know our community of like-minded dog owners, there is a place for you and your pup!
