Breed Standards for the Airedale Terrier
General Appearance and Coat- The coat is hard, dense, and wiry; it lies straight and close, with some hair crinkling or waving.
Head and Neck- Skull long and flat eyes small, stop hardly visible, V-shaped ears with fold above the level of the skull
Front Quarters- Feet small and round, its jaws are strong and punishing
Hind Quarters- Back short and level, tail set and carried high, of fair length
Special Characteristics- Tan, with black or griddle saddle
Gait and Movement- Its gait is free
Temperament- Lively, yet protective companion, some can be domineering, but most are biddable, reliable, and responsive to their owners wishes
