General Appearance:
A low-set dog, approximately 1.8 times longer than it is tall, with moderately heavy bone.
Head:
Medium to large eyes; Moderately flat skull; Large ears, slightly rounded at tip
Tail:
Tail set and carried fairly low, not curled
Color:
All shades of red, sable, and brindle; also blue merle or black, both with or without tan or brindle points; white flashings common
Size:
Weight: male: 30-38 lb; female: 25-34 lb
Height: 10.5 – 12.5
Gait:
Its gait is free, smooth, effortless and ground covering
Coat:
Its double coat consists of a soft thick undercoat and slightly harsh outer coat of medium length.
Temperament:
Fun-loving and high spirited, yet easygoing.
