Pug
Breed Standard for the Pug
General Appearance:
Square-proportioned, compact and of a cobby build, the pug is a large dog in a little space.
Head:
Slightly undershot; short, square muzzle; large, prominent eyes; massive, round head; thin, small ears, either rose or button.
Color:
Silver, apricot-fawn, or black, with black muzzle or mask, ears, cheek moles, and trace down back.
Gait:
The gait is strong and jaunty, but with a slight roll of the hindquarters.
Size:
Weight is 14 – 18 pounds; height is 10 – 11 pounds.
Temperament:
A delightful blend of dignity and comedy, the Pug is an amiable, playful, confident companion. It can be stubborn and headstrong, but it is pleasant and generally willing to please.
