Breed Standards for the Old English Sheepdog

General Appearance:

A strong, square-looking dog, this is a thick-set, muscular breed, able bodied and with an intelligent expression.

Coat:

The profuse coat has a good harsh texture, with an undercoat of waterproof pile, and takes both time and patience in its preparation.

Color:

The color can be any shade of gray, grizzle or blue, with or without white socks.

Size:

Height is upwards of 22 inches for females and 24 inches for males while weight is in the region of 65 – 67 pounds.

Temperament:

This bold, faithful, trustworthy dog is biddable and of even disposition.
