Breed Standards for the Mastiff
General Appearance:
The massive Mastiff is heavy bones and with a powerful musculature, being slightly longer than tall.
Head:
Muzzle short and broad, Eyes set wide, Head massive, good breadth, Ears proportionally small, V-shaped with rounded ends.
Tail:
Set high, never carried over back.
Color:
Fawn, apricot, or brindle, all with dark muzzle, ears and nose.
Size:
Weight is 175 – 190 pounds;
Height: Male min. 30 inches, Female min. 27.5 inches.
Temperament:
Innately good natured, calm, easygoing, and surprisingly gentle. It is a well-mannered house pet but needs sufficient room to stretch out.
