General Appearance:
Racy, balanced, and full of quality, the Irish Setter looks a spectacular and handsome sight.
Head:
Muzzle moderately deep, medium-size, almond-shaped eyes, long, lean head with distinct stop and well-defined occiput, low-set ears.
Tail:
Carried straight or slightly curving upward, nearly level with the back.
Coat:
Moderate length.
Color:
Mahogany or rich chestnut red.
Temperament:
A tireless and enthusiastic hunter, and it approaches everything in life with a rollicking, good natured attitude, full of gusto and fervor.
