Breed Standards for the Great Dane
General Appearance:
This regal breed combines great size and power with elegance. It is square proportioned and well balanced.
Head:
Square jaw with deep muzzle, almond-shaped, medium-sized eyes, head long and rectangular, stop pronounced, ears medium size; if cropped, carried uniformly erect, short level back.
Tail:
Set high, not carried over level of back.
Coat:
Short, dense, sleek-looking.
Color:
Brindle, fawn, blue, black, and harlequin, which is all white ground with all black or all blue patches.
Size:
Height is 28 – 30 inches and weight is 100 – 120 pounds.
Temperament:
Gentle, loving, easygoing and sensitive.
