Breed Standards for the English Setter
General Appearance: The English Setter is clean in outline and elegant in both appearance and in movement.
Head: Muzzle long and square, with fairly pendant flews, head long and lean with a well-defined stop, eyes large and nearly round, occiput moderately defined, low set ears, topline level or sloping slightly to rear.
Tail: Carried straight, and level with topline, tapering to a fine point.
Color: Black and white (blue belton), orange and white (orange belton), lemon and white (lemon belton), liver and white (liver belton) or tri-color.
Size: Standing 24 – 27 inches and weighing in the region of 55 – 66 pounds.
Temperament: A lively dog that loves to hunt and run.
