Breed Standards for the Cairn terrier
General Appearance and Coat- Its weather-resistant coat consists of a soft, close undercoat and a profuse, harsh outer coat
Head and Neck- Eyes sunken, with shaggy eyebrows, skull broad, well-defined stop, ears are small, pointed, erect, set wide
Hind Quarters- Level back of medium length, tail carried gaily but not curled over back
Special Characteristics- Any color but white; dark ears, muzzle, tail tip desired
Temperament- It is plucky, spirited, bold, inquisitive, hardy, slever, stubborn and scrappy.
