Breed Standards for the Brittany Spaniel

General Appearance:

The Brittany is square-proportioned, the height at the shoulder equaling the length of the body. It stands slightly higher at the withers than at the rump.

Head:

Nose some shade of brown or pink; Medium length, rounded skull; Short, triangular ears, set high

Tail:

Tailless to about 4 inches long

Color:

Orange and white, liver and white, or tricolored

Gait:

Very quick and noted for its ground-covering side movement at the trot

Coat:

An overly profuse coat

Temperament:

Quick and curious. It loves to run, scout, hunt and play
