Breed Standards for the Border Terrier
General Appearance:
The Border Terrier is a medium bone, slightly taller than long.
Head:
Muzzle short, darker colored and with a few short whiskers; Eyes medium sized; Head similar to an otter; Small, V-shaped ears, dropping forward;
Tail:
Moderately short, carried gaily when alert
Color:
Red, grizzle and tan, blue and tan, or wheaten
Size:
Weight: Male 13 – 15.5 lb; Female 11.5 – 14 lb
Height: 10 – 11”
Temperament:
It is inquisitive, busy, friendly, and biddable. It is very good with children and makes a good companion for people of all ages. It digs, and some bark. Some are talented escape artists.
