General Appearance:
The American Water Spaniel packs a lot of ability into a comparatively small dog.
Head:
Slightly rounded eyes, color harmonizing with coat, Broad skull, stop moderately defined, Long, wide ears.
Tail:
Curved in a rocker fashion, carried near the level of the back.
Color:
Solid, liver, brown or dark chocolate
Size:
Weight: male: 30 – 45 lb; female: 25 – 40 lb
Height: 15 – 18”
Coat:
The coat can range from uniform waves to close curls, with a dense undercoat. This provides protection against the weather.
Temperament:
A lover of water. Skilled in retrieving and hunting. Also a fun-loving sensitive dog
