Breed Standards for the Affenpinscher
General Appearance and Coat- It’s rough coat is about 1 inch long on the body, somewhat longer on the head, neck, chest, stomach and legs. This coat type provided protection from vermin and harsh conditions.
Head & Neck- Under shot, short muzzle, domed skull, well-defined top, ears Both cropped to a point and erect, or UN cropped and erect, Semi-erect, or drop
Front Quarters- Small, round feet
Hind Quarters- Tail natural or docked 1-3″ long, carried erect
Special Characteristics- Black, gray, silver, or black and tan
Gait and Movement- The gait is light, sound, and confident
Temperament- Very playful, busy, inquisitive, bold, and stubborn
