Breed Standard for Neapolitan Mastiff
General Appearance:
A strongly built dog has a very majestic bearing and is a devoted and loyal guard of both owner and property.
Skin:
The skin fits rather loosely over the body, but although this is a feature of the breed it should not be excessive.
Coat:
Short, dense, even, fine, and of hard texture with good sheen.
Color:
Black, blue, gray and brown, varying from fawn to red.
Size:
Height is 26 – 29 inches; weight is 110 – 154 lb.
Temperament:
It is reputed to be of reliable temperament, attacking only upon command.
