General Appearance:
Powerful, squarely built, and sturdy with heavy bone and strong muscular development.
Head:
Blue-black tongue and black mouth; Padded button of skin above the inner corner of each almond-shaped eye; Broad, flat skull; Small, triangular ears carried erect
Tail:
Carried close to back
Color:
Solid red, black, blue, cinnamon, and cream
Size:
Weight: 45–70 lb; Height: 17-20”
Coat:
It can have either a rough coat, which is straight and off standing or a smooth coat, which is hard and smooth. Both coat types have woody undercoats
Temperament:
It is independent, stubborn, serious and protective and devoted to its family
