        Breed Standard for the Pomeranian

 

 

General Appearance:

The Pomeranian is a small, square proportioned, miniature spitz with a cobby, rounded body.

 

 

Head:

Short neck; almond shaped eyes; wedge-shaped head; small, high-set, erect ears.

 

 

Tail:

Arched over back and carried flat.

 

 

Color:

All colors and patterns allowed

 

 

Size:        

Weight is 3 – 7 pounds (preferably 4 – 5 pounds).

Height is 8 – 11 inches

 

 

Temperament:

Bouncy, bold, and busy, the Pomeranian makes the most of every day.  It is curious, playful, self-confident (even cocky), and attentive, every ready for a game or adventure.
