Breed Standards for the Beauceron

 

 

General Appearance:

Despite a rather foreboding appearance, the breed is of a tolerant nature and is suited to family situations.

 

 

Color:

Bas rouge which is black and tan.  However, harlequin, tri-colored gray, black, and tan, is also recognized provided that the tan markings are identical to those on the bi-color.

 

 

Size:        

Height 24.5 – 27.5 inches; Weight 66 – 85 lbs.

 

 

Temperance:

The principal qualities of the breed are obedience, vigilance, calmness, courage, hardiness, and patience.
