Breed Standard of the Anatolian Shepherd

 

 

General Appearance:

It is a large, powerful, rugged dog, having both great agility and endurance.

 

 

Head:

Dewlap not excessive; eyes almond-shaped; V-shaped ears with rounded apex

 

 

Tail:

Long, highest, with a curl in the end; carried in a wheel when alert

 

 

Color:

Any, most common is fawn with black mask

 

 

Size:

Weight:  Male 110 – 150 lb; Female 80 – 120 lb

Height:   Male from 29” up; Female: from 27” up

 

 

Temperament:

This is a serious dog, devoted to its family and its duty as family protector.  At the same time, it is laid back and easygoing, never on the lookout for trouble.
